Jill Weberding, RN is an oncology nurse consultant. Her passion is helping cancer patients to understand their diagnosis by simplifying the medical jargon we use.
Jill teaches that when a cancer diagnosis is given, very few people can listen to additional incoming information. Patients start grieving for a potentially shortened life span, a difficult journey ahead, loss of hair, potential of stomas. Until we can answer some of these questions that our patients have in their minds, any additional information can be confusing, or even just unheard.
Jill helps nurses and cancer centers to connect with patients at the point of diagnosis to provide information in stages, and at the stage where the patient is currently at. Learn more about what Jill is doing with training healthcare providers in this episode.
