Joe & Bella

Podcast - Taylor Thoen - Jan 5, 23

Our first podcast guest of the year, Taylor Thoen, is a former Registered Nurse and the co-founder of Joe & Bella. With an innate passion for helping people, Taylor pursued several healthcare opportunities including work as a CNA and eventually a Registered Nurse.

In her experiences working directly with clients, she saw the need for better clothing options for her patients, which eventually led her down the path of collaboration with Jimmy Zollo to establish a line of adaptive apparel for older patient populations.

From fundraising, market research, day-to-day operations, and more Taylor walks us through the process of what a start-up looks like in the post-pandemic world.

Taylor also discusses some of their strategies for marketing and publicity, which includes establishing strategic partnerships with other clothing brands to build awareness. Joe & Bella also employs the help of an internet marketing guru to help build their online following.

With a focus on function and aesthetic appeal, Joe & Bella hopes to continue creating beautiful, adaptive pieces that change the game in clothing for older adults.
