I recently had the pleasure of chatting with podcast hosts Kristen & Hannah of Nurses In The Know. Now in their third season, these nurses have some experience getting interesting guests to share their knowledge on their show. While it hasn’t always been easy, Kristen & Hannah have been persistent in their efforts to get guests on their show, in spite of a few rejections.
Much like other great things in life, persistence is key to growing your podcast into a successful talk show. Not to mention, having a podcast is a great way to add value to your business, giving you and your listeners an opportunity to grow in your knowledge.

- Listen to Other Podcasts
Podcast hosts make great podcast guests! With experience behind the microphone, podcasters generally do well in articulating their thoughts, and make for interesting guests. You can go to Apple Podcasts or other popular platforms to find relevant podcasters for your show. Who knows, maybe they will invite you on their podcast too!
- Join Online Communities
There are several public online podcasting communities that you can easily join. From Facebook groups to online forums, you can link up with other podcasters and even search hashtags like #findguests #beapodcastguest, etc.
- Search For Newly Published Authors
In general new authors are excited to market their books. If the publication has anything to do with your podcast theme, then discussing a new book may make for an interesting podcast. It can also help increase book sales for your guest, so it’s a win-win.
- Tweet It!
Are you an active Tweeter, if so, then you can put out a call for podcast guests on your Twitter or other popular social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.). Just briefly mention what kind of expertise you’re looking for in a podcast guest, and ask your followers to retweet (re-post) to find a good host. You never know what’s out there, until you ask.
