Every business starts with a fresh idea. Through persistence, dedication, and a few mistakes here and there, ideas can grow into flourishing businesses. But what comes after your idea blossoms into a lucrative business? Franchising!
Franchising is an expansive marketing concept that can multiply your business and success. If you’re ready to take your business higher, then franchising is the best next step. But it’s not always easy!
Deborah Bernacki, is an RN, mother of 4, and the Founder of home care business and franchise Happier At Home. After building a strong business in New York, Debbie decided to take her business to the next level by franchising. With locations in Florida, Alabama, New York, and surrounding states, Happier At Home is becoming a household name amongst seniors searching for quality care and patient advocacy.
While the decision to franchise was simple, marketing the Happier At Home franchise proved to be a challenge for Deborah. Gleaning from her own experiences Debbie shared with me some tips for success on our call.
Here are some tips for marketing franchises, according to NursePreneur Deborah Bernacki:
Franchise Brokers
Franchise brokers are invaluable to business owners looking to expand. By maintaining a good relationship with franchise brokers you count on suitable leads and hear about good investment opportunities.
Franchise Expos
Franchise expos are a great place to meet with interested candidates. Through face-to-face interactions you can spark interest and create personal connections with potential franchisees. Debbie also warns that not everyone you meet at a franchise expo is up for running their own business, so you’ll want to make sure that you that sort out the good candidates early on.
Social media marketing is important whether you own a small shop or large franchise. Debbie liked to use LinkedIn to reach out to potential franchisees and make her business known. Other great platforms for social media marketing include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.
Professional Advertising
There are some things that you just can’t do on your own. While franchise expos, social media, and franchiser brokers are great, professional advertising companies understand the complex world of franchise marketing and can fill in the gaps to bring you good candidates.
Consultants
When it comes to starting your own small business or franchise, it’s always a good idea to hire a consultant. Consultants can lend their expertise on starting successful franchises, ultimately saving you time, money, and energy. You can never go wrong with a consultant!
