Where was my career development?
Where was I going with all this?
Lacking the ability to be introspective, my resentment manifested as anger at everything, culminating in a fight with my attending that got me suspended.
This really wasn’t where I thought a PhD would get me – to anger management classes. I had a burning desire to do more, help more, be more, but I didn’t know what else I could do. I was so myopic, I couldn’t see past working in the hospital.
Then I got a corporate position at Walmart where my job was to meet amazing nurses all around the world.
And I realized, there was so much more I could do, if I only had the vision to see it.
Fast forward several years, I started NursePreneurs, which became my reimagined manifestation of all the energy that was bottled up inside of me.
NursePreneurs is about helping nurses to achieve their vision and answer their big why. My fascination with NursePreneurs is seeing all the incredible work being done by nurses around the world who are unashamed to be compensated for it. My mission is to help as many nurses to realize their dreams as I can.
The problem is, I can’t do it alone and that is what 2020 taught me. I am only one person and I cannot teach all the nurses who come to NursePreneurs in the way I believe they need to be encouraged and taught. The nurses don’t realize how much mindset plays a significant role in their success until they are deep in it.
At NursePreneurs, we teach them how to set up their business, but what we do really well is help them over the mindset obstacles that prevent them from being successful.
